ABOUT
Five Sextillion was founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Adrian and Sokum Hyland-Smith, with a simple aim: to bring a more personal and professional approach to interior design & refurbishment under one company.
Between them, Adrian and Sokum have over 20 years of experience working with private clients and the professional trade, giving them a deep understanding of what goes into creating beautiful, well-considered interiors — from the initial design and sourcing through to supply and installation.
Adrian’s career has taken him through some of the most respected names in the interiors industry, including The Sofa & Chair Company, C.P. Hart, West One Bathrooms and Fired Earth. This experience has given him an instinctive understanding of quality, craftsmanship and the high standards expected from premium refurbishment projects.
Sokum brings a strong creative vision to Five Sextillion, together with extensive experience in interior design and project management. She studied Art and Design at Wimbledon School of Art before completing a BA (Hons) in Furniture Design at De Montfort University. Over the past two decades, she has designed interiors for a diverse range of private homes, always balancing creativity with the practicalities of everyday living.
Together, Adrian and Sokum take a hands-on approach to every project. They believe the best interiors are not simply about how a space looks, but how it feels and functions for the people who live in it.
From the small details to the final finished spaces, Five Sextillion creates distinctive, refined interiors that feel considered rather than overdone. Every project is shaped around the client, with a focus on quality, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to getting things right.
Adrian and Sokum are consummate professionals. Together they have the rare ability to combine design flair and style with practical renovation experience and know how. In practical terms they also excel at keeping the client informed about progress while at the same time retaining responsibility for the project as a whole. We would not hesitate to use them again for our next project.
