BUXTED LODGE
We were responsible for the turnkey design and installation of this modest family bathroom with no natural light, and to update the kitchen with new flooring, wall finish, lighting, window treatment and will soon be creating interior design schemes for other areas of this London Apartment.
“I had been looking for a suitable company to install a luxury bathroom in my flat in East London but after two years of searching could not find anyone who gave me confidence that they could either supply the quality of products that I wanted or carry out an installation to a standard that I would be happy with. Fortunately, I came across the name of Five Sextillion and decided to call the owner Adrian Hyland-Smith to see if he would be interested in my proposed project. I immediately found him to be engaging and after a brief telephone conversation we arranged a meeting at my property with both Adrian and his wife Sokum, the Creative Director of the company. Although both were very friendly, they had a thoroughly professional approach to their work which I have rarely come across in this sector and they took time to get to know what I wanted from my bathroom and returned on another occasion with a mood board of different schemes with sketches of what would work in the context of my modest sized room. Over a period of a few weeks we agreed the products to be used and Sokum arranged for me to go to bathroom and tile showrooms which displayed brassware, sanitary ware and tiles which were beyond what I imagined was available. Her very knowledgeable contacts in the showrooms took time to show me the products which we had discussed and this made decisions about choosing the products so much easier. Particular attention was paid by Sokum to colour, texture and layering with clever use of lighting to highlight a spectacular feature wall in a hexagon mother of pearl mosaic. Costs were agreed and work started on time on the agreed date. The installation went very smoothly overall with thoroughly professional tradesmen who worked to a meticulous standard which I have rarely seen before. The end result is visible in the photographs and the company went on to help bring life to my kitchen with a fantastic underheated, tiled floor which was made possible without removing any of the cabinets or worktops in what was technically a difficult task written off by other companies as impossible. Sokum also designed the amazing glass splashbacks with a satin finish and bespoke colour by Little Greene which look like a painted wall but provide amazing practicality in a kitchen setting. I can honestly say that I have never come across an interior design company who give so much attention to detail and are willing to listen to the customer and create what others deem impossible.”
