With a new side extension signed off for this 4-bedroom semi-detached Wimbledon property, the brief was to create a cohesive design style in a contemporary natural palette with simple colour accents to flow throughout. We were appointed for the design and FF&E for all areas including open plan Kitchen/ Diner, the Utility room, double reception, Playroom, bedroom for a 10-year-old, Guest bedroom, family bathroom, two Cloakrooms, hallway, all floor and wall finishes including exterior fittings and finishes.

We initially felt very lost when faced with the many decisions involved in the design of our extension and house renovation. We had worked with an architect, but he was unable to offer the level of interior design advice and guidance that we needed.
We were looking for a modern style that reflected us as a family — definitely not a show home. We met with Sokum and Adrian and immediately felt they were able to turn our very limited vision into a dream home.
The design process was like a dream from the start. Sokum took over the kitchen design, which we had been struggling with, and presented us with a vision board that we became so excited about, having previously waded through the seemingly endless options available.
Sokum negotiated with the kitchen supplier and was meticulous in ensuring that the designs we approved were exactly what was brought to life. She also made sure we spent our budget very carefully, identifying areas where we could make sensible savings without compromising the overall design — for example, there was no need for a marble worktop or specialist sink in the utility room. She secured an excellent price, giving us greater flexibility to invest our budget in other areas.
From there, Sokum designed the entire downstairs, creating a clear and cohesive style throughout while incorporating some of our existing furniture. She never imposed her ideas on us and always consulted us, bringing mood boards, colours and design options to ensure we were completely aligned at every stage.
Sokum absolutely came into her own when designing our daughter’s bedroom. The vision was inspired, and we are all delighted with the outcome. She carefully wove in the ideas, colours and textures that our daughter loves, while also future-proofing the space for the older teenager she will become.
Sokum had fantastic ideas for elevating more basic purchases — for example, using IKEA wardrobes with bespoke carpentry doors — and she had an eye for every detail. Her dedication extended to being on site and checking the kitchen as it was installed, as well as jumping on video calls with us in the evenings to discuss and check details. She also worked extremely well with our builders, which definitely made our lives easier.
We truly cannot thank Sokum and Five Sextillion enough for designing and delivering our dream home, all while keeping us within budget. We absolutely love it and have received so many compliments on our beautiful home.
