KENSINGTON
The brief was to re-design two individual bathrooms for a busy young couple. Having grown up in Ibiza, we were asked to draw visual inspiration from the White Isles alongside accents of eucalyptus.
The Guest shower’s main function is that of a cloakroom and so our initial focus was in creating an inviting feature-walled basin zone to draw you in. We sourced a generous carved pebble washbasin with brushed steel brassware, a light oak wall unit, ambient pendant lighting with a dramatic textured vinyl wall-covering and the WC in a practical location tucked to the right of the door.
We allocated a reasonable space for a practical walk-in wet room shower with a moody green glazed tile and practical alcove, and the space behind the heated towel warmer built into a full height cupboard. We fitted a steady-rack mounting bracket to store a commuter bicycle vertically and out of sight when not in use, whilst the surrounding space added ample storage.
We designed the Principle bathroom focusing on the a space for the couple to enjoy side by side with a double basin, large walk-in shower, free-standing bath, storage within a recessed mirror cabinet and the vanity unit alongside practical alcoves and a wall-hung WC to the right of the door.
Visually, we delivered through a palette of soft whites and cream, light timber, and an array of subtle unassuming materials and textures such as concrete, porcelain, satin and sheer window dressing and brushed steel for a soothing ambience.
